Dr. Vikram J. Rao is a Surgical Gastroenterologist, GI Oncosurgeon, and Robotic GI Surgeon with special expertise in the management of pancreatic, colon, and rectal diseases, including both benign and malignant conditions. He specializes in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, complex pancreatic disorders, advanced gastrointestinal cancers, gallbladder stones, and complex hernia surgery.
His clinical practice encompasses diseases of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, stomach, small intestine, colon, and rectum, with a particular focus on pancreatic surgery, colorectal surgery, GI cancer surgery, robotic surgery, and advanced minimally invasive GI surgery, including abdominal wall reconstruction with robotic/laparoscopic hernia surgery.
Dr. Rao has extensive experience in performing complex procedures including Whipple surgery (pancreaticoduodenectomy), distal pancreatectomy, colon cancer surgery, rectal cancer surgery, liver resections, robotic GI cancer surgery, and minimally invasive procedures for pancreatitis. He has a special interest in the multidisciplinary management of pancreatic tumours, borderline resectable pancreatic cancer, hepatobiliary malignancies, and advanced colorectal cancers.
